I have received several emails asking me about some of the music that is from and inspired by Desperate Housewives.  So I am here to answer that question.  There is a soundtrack that was released in 2005 by Hollywood Records and distributed by Universal Music.  Now keep in mind that the songs were inspired by the show but have not appeared on the show at the time the album was released.  The remainder of the album is original dialogue excerpts from the series. I am in the midst of researching music played on the various episodes and will have that post soon.

“Mary Alice” - Mary Alice Young

“God Bless the American Housewife” - She DAISY

“Edie” - Edie Britt

It seems that some rumors really are true.  Who knew?  It was announced on Wednesday that Nicolette Sheridan will in fact be leaving Desperate Housewives at the end of this season.  The season finale airs on May 18th.  There have been so many speculations as to why she is leaving and how she will be written off but from what sources are saying Nicolette, who plays real-estate hottie Edie Britt, will be killed off.  At the beginning of the season, Edie was married to a man named Dave Williams who was a bit of a sketchy character at best.  It was later revealed that his last name was in fact not Williams.  It seems he is on Wisteria Lane to get revenge against Mike Delfino who was driving the car that killed Dave’s wife and daughter.  So he decided to get even by plotting to kill Edie.  But before he can carry out his plan, Edie is involved in a car accident involving electrical wires.

Stay tuned for more developments as they happen!

5-14  (Episode 101)  “Mama Spent Money When She Had None”  February 8

Written by Jason Ganzel; directed by David Warren

Susan wants to send MJ to the best school, though she and Mike can’t afford it. We’ll meet the school’s headmaster. Susan attempts to steal pearls Mike gave to Katherine to pay for the school. Look for Susan to take a job at the school.

Bree’s well on her way to becoming the next Martha Stewart…  She’s so successful she decides to buy a new car.

The Scavos decide to sell Tom’s Mustang. One of the Scavos argues with their liquor distributor over an unpaid bill. Will Bree loan money to Lynette?

Can Gabrielle squeeze into the dress she wore when she became engaged? Probably not right away, as she and Edie attend a fitness boot camp together.  She does not take it very seriously — but her mean trainer will do his best to give her an attitude adjustment.

Lee (Kevin Rahm) doesn’t know whether he should tell Tom and Lynette some disturbing facts about Dave. Bob (Tuc Watkins) also appears. Tom hits Dave.

Eva Longoria

So I decided to do something bit different for a week or so.  I want to introduce each character and the person who plays that character.  We are starting with Eva Longoria. She is the beauty queen who plays Gabrielle Solis on Desperate Housewives.  She was born March 15, 1975 in Corpus Christi, Texas.  Her parents were Mexican-American.  She has won numerous Golden Globe Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards as her incredible performance as Mrs. Solis.

She started her career on the soap opera The Young and the Restless.  She has appeared as model in several magazines such as FHM and many men’s magazines.  She married NBA guard Tony Parker in 2007.

Eva is the youngest of the 4 daughters her parents has.  Her parents are Enrique and Ella and her sisters are Elizabeth, Judina, Emily, Jeanette and Esmeralsda.

Eva graduated from Roy Miller High School and received her Bachelor’s degree in Science from Texas A&M.  In 1998, she won the prestigious title of Miss Corpus Christi.

Eva has appeared on shows such as Beverly Hills 90210, General Hospital and Dragnet.

Eva Longoria does plenty of endorsements deals for Bebe Sport, L’Oreal, Hanes and New York and Company.

As far as her personal life, she was married to Tyler Christopher who plays Nicholas on General Hospital from 20002-2004.  She became engaged to Tony on November 30, 2006.  In 2008, Eva opened a restaurant in LA called Beso which is mainly Spanish cuisine and she owns a 3.6 million dollar home in Los Angeles.  She and Tony also own a home in Velano Country Club in Chino Hills California.

Beau Bridges guest stars as Eli Scruggs, the neighborhood handyman who’s found dead on Susan’s roof. Most of the residents of Wisteria Lane will attend his funeral. The women of Wisteria Lane will recall significant moments from when Eli was present, including the day Mary Alice killed herself.

One of Lynette’s flashbacks includes her going into labor as she’s trying to land a job. Lynette recalls how Eli helped her when she was overwhelmed and neglected Penny.

Gabrielle’s memory of Eli concerns his helping her make new friends when she arrived on Wisteria Lane.  Lucille Soong returns as Yao-Lin, Gabrielle’s maid from the first season.

A flashback introduces us to one of Edie’s ex-husbands, who’s played by Matt Cedeno.  He’s not interested in having sex with her. Edie asks Eli if she’s still hot.

Susan remembers how Eli was always there for her when she lost the men in her life.

Bree recalls how Eli made a small gesture that helped get her where she is today.  Steven Culp returns as Bree’s first husband, Rex Van De Kamp. A short-tempered caterer (not Bree or Katherine) prepares for a wealthy woman’s event.

Christine Estabrook returns as Martha Huber, who was memorably murdered in season 1. Brenda Strong will also appear in person as Mary Alice.

Spoiler for this week’s episode!!
